The Pumpkin Weigh-Off that occurs the Monday prior to the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is one of our favorite events of the year! It features the mascot Gourdy, photo-ops, the Half Moon Bay High School Marching Band, and is emcee’d by Cameron Palmer of Cameron’s Restaurant, Pub & Inn. The winning pumpkin is on display in the parking lot of the IDES Hall during the week leading up to the festival; here’s a photo of our daughter giving her best Vanna White impression next to this year’s 2,560 pound winner.

The weigh-off is also a great place to purchase #HMBPumpkinFest merch; the main thing we wanted to get is this year’s beautiful poster, featuring shiny gold detailing. Incidentally, all 50 posters are on display at the Half Moon Bay Library throughout October!
